Shooting in Koh Samui was another reason this wedding was so special for us. Over 10 years ago, Ken and I lived there in a bamboo hut on the beach for a couple months. It was there we planned our wedding and laid the foundation for our life together. I have such wonderful memories of our time there and have always wanted to go back. It was so nice that this time it was to celebrate another wedding.
If ‘Traditional’ was the theme for Part 1 of Sasaya & Jussi’s wedding, then ‘Tropical Fun’ was the theme for Part 2. The guests dress code was Tropical print (btw always a great idea to give your guests a dress code...I even like the idea of a colour palette!) and the guests were all ready to have fun in the sun at the beautiful Panacea Retreat Private Estate. Let me tell you, this venue is a slight upgrade from the bamboo hut Ken and I stayed in many years ago. If you are looking for a wedding venue or stagette getaway, I can not recommend this place enough. There is an infinity pool overlooking the jungle and another pool overlooking the ocean. Private tennis courts, theatre room, kids room, basically everything S&J needed to throw one amazing party for their guests. They even hired a phenomenal band to keep the party going late into the night..or more accurate into the next day.
The ceremony was gorgeous as the dream team, Weddingbliss and I Am Flowers worked their magic. The food was delicious, but the best part was the speeches. So many laughs and tears. It made me realize why so many people traveled from all over the world to be there, because Sasaya & Jussi are the kind of thoughtful, smart and fun people, that when you meet them, you never let go. They collected such amazing people in their lives, I was even sad to say goodbye to some of the bridesmaids at the end of the night. Getting to know everyone so well, is always the best This is the best part of multi-day weddings, is that you really get to know everyone so well. I know we will see these two again one day...just not sure what country, as I think they are travelers just like us, but I am already looking forward to it.
