I don’t even know where to start with this wedding and these two. It was such a special day and I’ve fallen in love with these two so much….mostly, because they have such a sweet and true love for each other. You will see pictures of a heart locket, I don’t know if they want me to share the story behind it, but let me just tell you, the story is the stuff they write romance novels and movies about. For real, it sends chills up your spine and makes you believe in true love.
The day was perfect and perfectly planned by Alicia Keats. In the morning the guys met for drinks and laughs at Hawksworth, as the girls got ready. Josh surprised Adela with a delivery of flowers. The ceremony was heartfelt with personal vows and roses given to their mothers. The portrait shoot was filled with lots of kisses, laughs and Zoolander looks. The reception started with a first dance, which was adorable to watch as Adela & Josh just laughed….you can see a theme, there was a lot of laughing at this wedding and the laughs did not stop here. From speeches to impromptu dance and song performances, we all got a good ab workout that day. And I can’t forget the delicious farm-style dinner by Savoury City. Food just tastes better when it’s past around and shared.
All in all, a perfect day.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with family and friends. The Fall has always been one of my favourite seasons. It's still sunny, but there is a slight chill in the air...just enough to make new layered outfits. Time slows down a little, time to reflect. And best of all...it's the beginning of holiday season! Time for parties with lots of yummy food and cocktails!
Here is a styled shoot produced by Erin from Sparkle media we did for Glitter Guide last year, inspired by all that is wonderful about Fall.

I've found one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots ever. It's not surprising it's on top of a mountain. I was so excited that Jessica and Phil wanted to do a helicopter engagement shoot and I think we were all awe struck by the beauty we discovered. It is a sunset I will never forget and I'm so happy I got to share and capture it with such a wonderful couple.
One of the best parts of my job is witnessing true love. I’m starting to consider myself quite the expert at identifying it and let me tell you, you can see in Stephanie and Glenn’s eyes every time they look at each other.
Their wedding planned by Count Down Events, was just as beautiful as their love. They had flowers galore, signature drinks, heartfelt speeches (they both have such wonderful families), scotch and cigar bar, yummy night treats, a live band and dancing all night. I loved how it was an elegant event, but still playful and completely unique with black draping and vibrant colours, it was like no wedding I’ve ever seen before.
Even though it rain…and I mean down poured on their wedding, it didn’t damping the day one bit. I’m just thankful Stephanie’s grandparents had such a nice covered courtyard to take pictures in…you can’t even tell it was raining can you?! That said, I was standing in the rain taking the pictures, so I must have looked like a soaked kitten….but we got the shots and that is all that’s important.
From the fairy tale worthy first look down the grand staircase, to dancing all night on that stunning custom dancefloor brought in from NY, Stephanie and Glenn’s wedding was one magical evening I don’t think anyone will ever forget.

Today, I’m sharing one of my favourite weddings. Not just because it’s beautiful and in Bali and we got to shoot with elephants and in rice fields…but because it is Ken’s brothers wedding!
Dee met Astrid while he was in Indonesia for work and it was love at first sight...literally. It’s easy to see Astrid is drop dead gorgeous, but she is also the sweetest person ever. No really. She called MY mom on Mother’s day before I did! That’s just how thoughtful she is. I’m so lucky to call her a sister and Dee is even lucky now to call her his wife.
Their wedding was not only beautiful, with the impeccable styling of Joy Proctor behind the scenes and the Baliness country as it’s backdrop. But it was so much fun! Yep, that’s my 75 yr old mom on the dance floor the whole night having the time of her life. And the icing on the cake was everyone, I mean everyone, no matter their age, how fancy their dress was, if they were holding on to a chair for dear life or an amazing planner who we loved for finding us the perfect villa and worked so hard to bring our vision to life …everyone got thrown into the pool. And then it became a pretty fun pool party… which then you couldn’t get my mom out of the pool.
There is something special about all weddings, but I have to say without a doubt villa weddings are my favourite. You spend so much time planning a wedding and it only lasts one day. Instead, with villa weddings, you spend almost a week together with your closest friend and family. Giving so many more opportunities to make memories. And trust me, the cost is the same (or sometimes less) than if it was a local wedding. If you are debating what to do for your wedding, look into getting a villa in Europe or Asia, you will not regret it!

If you love a chic downtown vibe, delicious drinks and are a bit of a foodie, then you are going to LOVE Klara and Nicolas wedding at Reflections in the Georgia hotel. I know they didn’t want the regular stuffy, boring wedding, and it took them some time for find the right place…and let me tell you the search was worth it. They had such a fun wedding, with good music, lots of mingling and the perfect amount of glam with the beautiful décor & flowers by CC & Jamie Roa.
There are so many great ideas at this wedding. One of my favourite personal touches was that all the food at the food stations had personal meaning to them from their travels. The best was the Jamón ibérico that Nicholas actually smuggled from their trip to Spain (shhh). I also loved the limited edition Beta 5 chocolate with their monograms on it designed by Love by Phoebe…because who doesn’t love Beta 5! Another fun idea, was in the morning all the groomsman went out for a foot massage! It's always such a more chilled out time for the guys in the morning. I'm always so amused when I look at Ken's photos and see just how different the bride & groom's morning was! I also loved their twist on the Polaroid guestbook, the giant Instagram "photobooth" and of course everyone loves a four-legged ring bearer.
After all the food and pretty funny speeches, Nicholas definitely got roasted, everyone headed to Prohibition where they had the whole club to themselves! I would have loved to got pictures, but by that time I was home prepping for my next wedding…but I’m guessing it was a pretty crazy time.
Excited to see this wedding in Weddingbells latest issue and on their blog:

We are delighted that Wedluxe magazine featured our recent shoot: The Alchemist http://wedluxe.com/the-alchemist/. This book was one of my favourite books growing up. Here are a couple of my favourite quotes from it:
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
We had an amazing team for this shoot lead by the talented Soha of CountDown Events.

Melanie and Chris's wedding portrait session couldn't have landed on a better night. There was a blue moon with the prettiest sunset....equals romance and pastel gorgeousness!
Eeeek!! I'm beyond excited to be part of the Junebug Weddings Best of the Best Destination Collection 2015. Every year I drool over the stunning images from around the world they curate from amazing photographers that I admire so much. I'm so honoured to be a part of it this year!!
Big love for this couple Carly Liao and Eddie Lam, who had the adventurous idea of running away and eloping on a mountain top in New Zealand, a country they've never been too...how romantic. I have to say, elopements might be my favourite! We get to spend so much time with the couple, really getting to know they and witness their love. This will always be a favourite wedding and dear to my heart.

I love it when my clients have new ideas for their engagement shoot. Ilana and Jon propose we do a stylish cat-mouse chase through the maze. Ilana definitely has the perfect dress for it! I loved the idea and we had so much fun shooting together that day.
I can't wait to photograph these two again....tomorrow!!!! I just know it's going to be a beautiful wedding!
