Blossom season has to be one of our favourite times for engagement photos, everything looks so pretty and romantic. But when you're photographing Michelle and Jon, I think we could have done it anywhere and it would have turned out pretty and romantic (and pretty darn fun). These two are just the best, complete gems, inside and out.

Woke up today to find out Weddingbells Magazine names us one of the TOP wedding photographers in Canada for a second time!

We are so delighted and want to send a big THANK YOU to all our wonderful couples. It's because of you that we love our job so much and continue to pour our heart and soul into every wedding day. xoxox

Barcelona is one of those cities that just has soul. Every time I go, I love visiting the hole-in-the-wall haunts that I discovered on previous trips...and then wandering the streets to find some new gems.

It was so lovely to walk these streets with the Truvelle crew, shooting for their third season.

Seen on Once Wed:

After only dating for while, Kristin and Alex decided to take the plunge and move to Punta Mita Mexico together. It was there they fell in love, so it’s only fitting, years later, that they brought their closest friends and family (including their fur baby) back to this beautiful place to witness them say, “I do”.

I was so honoured that they asked us to join them to capture the experience. It was a week full of sun, tequila, late night dancing, boys fishing trips and girl pool parties at a pretty sweet villa. These photos I’ll leave up to your imagination ;)

But what I will share is the most beautiful and heartfelt ceremony under a tree on the beach. Plus, some loved fill photos of one of the most thoughtful, sweet and in love couple I know... (not to mention pretty damn good looking ;). But let me get back to how sweet they are. When I say sweet, I literally don’t think I know a more lovely and sweet person than Kristin. She’s one of those people that makes you happy just being around her. I think you’ll see that in the photos, her genuine energy just radiates through her beautiful smile. Enjoy!

Shooting at the Hycroft is always a dream, especially when you have a dream team such as ours!

Here are three styles of dresses that are trending for 2016. I love that crop tops have found they’re way into the wedding world and I simply adore the Remington Haley Paige dress with the neutral bodice. (Oh, I want to get married again!)

Oh where to start, there are so many wonderful moments and memories about this wedding. Perhaps finding a field full of the friendliest sheep or taking a helicopter to the New Zealand mountains looking for the perfect place to say “I do”, or after the ceremony landing in a lavender field at sunset (pure magic).

Our hearts were pumping with excitement during all these moments and we felt so lucky that we couldn’t even believe it was happening, it was all too perfect. These beautiful moments will be with us for a lifetime.

But I think what makes this wedding so special are the before and after moments. The skype dates with Carlie and Eddie in Macau, months before their elopement. Together we planned details to make their elopement personalized, such as colour scheme, flowers, invites, locations, etc. It felt so special that they trusted and included us in this process of one of the most important days of their life.

The following days, we traveled the New Zealand countryside together, partaking in MANY wine tours and delicious meals together. This couple, who were complete strangers living on the other side of the world, soon become fast friends. Carly and Eddie are both so thoughtful, generous, adventurous, and live life to the fullest… I know we’ll see again. It’s this quality time getting to know our couples, that makes us love elopements SO much!

Part 2 of Diana & Tristan's engagement. This was definiltey one of my favourite engagement shoots from last year. Diana and Tristan are just sweet hearts and you can not beat this stunning location. I loved it so much, that I wasn't even that upset when I destroyed two of my cameras by standing in the ocean and being hit by a rouge wave....anything to get that perfect shot ;)

You can see Part 1 of there shoot, with a completely different look here:

Sara and Hunter’s wedding was one wedding that always stands out. That night the Vancouver Club was packed to the brim. There was endless laughs, wine flowing and dancing till the wee hours. But besides the good vibes, this wedding is so memorable because they created an enchanted forest, INSIDE the Vancouver Club. She had miniature trees line the long Tuscan style tables. It was so impressive and something I’ve never seen before! The vision was brought to life by the talented Tala Florist.

Besides a memorable wedding, Sara & Hunter also had a very memorable engagement shot….in PARIS, no less! You can see their engagement album here:

We were delighted that Wedluxe featured their wedding

It's no secret, I love decor. It's one of the many reasons that I love wedding photography, that it somewhat incorporates my love for interior design. I think it's fabulous that weddings are getting more creative these days and really showing off the couple's style and personality. I always say I love living the spectrum of life...meaning, I like to experience it all and I love so many different styles...that it was 100% impossible for me to order my favourite decor. Instead, these are all my top favourite wedding decor for 2015! I hope you find some inspiration!

Loved this organic twist of adding driftwood and succulent plants to this rose gold glamorous ballroom look. Also loved how the couple incorporated their love for food by naming the tables after spices!

This organic Grecian wedding had so many cute little details that six squares was definitely not enough space. Calligraphy signs lining the aisle and a vintage truck photobooth filled with pillows we’re definitely some highlights…and just look at that bouquet!

A beautiful location is something that really inspires me…I feel it in my soul. And it’s funny, I’m never content just shooting a beautiful landscape, I always need people in it. This is why even on holidays, I never stop working...if there is a beautiful location, I need to photograph someone in it, asap!

Finding the perfect location for my couples is something I’m passionate about. If it’s a destination wedding it usually starts out with me doing a ton of internet research before we leave. Once in the country, then we go to check out these locations at different times of day to see what the light is like. It is time consuming…but it’s worth it. And when you love something, it’s not really work.

Looking at my top location picks for this year, I found it interesting that many of the picks might be my favourite, just because of all the investment time that went into finding the location or getting there. For example, location number #2 the waterfall in Bali, took a 7 hr taxi ride and 45min hike to reach. None of us were expecting how powerful the waterfall would be and how drenched in seconds we would all get. My lovely bride, Cindy, risked a dangerous climb onto this rock and sacrificed her very expensive dress, all to get that perfect shot. It was an adventure I don’t think any of us will forget.

For location #1 the Lone Tree at Lake Wanaka in New Zealand, my amazing bride Carly actually found this location when we starting discussing locations to shoot them in New Zealand. I did tons of research on this location before we got there. Was there really a tree in the water or was this photoshop magic? What will be the water levels the time of year we are going? How big is the tree? Is it strong enough to have someone sit on it? Do we need a permit? Luckily, when we got there the water levels were perfect and it was just strong enough to hold my tiny bride. What I didn’t expect was I would have to be IN the water past my waist shooting, just praying I didn’t drop a camera in the water…or trip. I do tend to trip a lot. But that brings up the adrenaline levels higher and made it that much more memorable.

So many memories from these photos that I (and I think our couples) will cherish for a lifetime, hope you enjoy!
