What can I say about these two, they are just absolutely fabulous in every way. I was so looking forward to photographing Jon & Bani in NY and the experience did not disappoint from beginning to end as these two were amazing hosts. They got us the sweetest apartment to stay just off of Central Park and came over the night we arrived for Indian take out and wine in the courtyard. This was perfect as it gave us a chance to get to know each other more and for me to fall in love with these two even more.
Engagement shoots are a great opportunity to capture who a couple is and what they enjoy doing together. Because let’s be honest, you don’t always walk around in a white dress and tux everyday, so it’s nice to get some photos of who you REALLY are. Some couples are outdoorsy and love hiking, so mountain top engagement shoots are perfect for them. Jon and Bani are very much a stylish, city-chic couple, so we planned a shoot in the amazing, iconic city of New York.
Jon also loves bikes & architecture, so the first morning we got some pretty sweet bikes and biked through the most gorgeous NY neighborhoods. The following day it was suppose to rain, but it held off enough for us to hit up some more classic NY spots and go-to neighborhoods including where Jon proposed. We had a lovely mid-day lunch break (and more wine of course) at a cute restaurant, perfect for some more photos. It felt like we were just hanging out with friends enjoying a great day in this vibrant city.
My favourite part about these photos is that you can see just how smitten these two are, by how they look at each other. These guys also nailed the wardrobe. If any of you are curious (as I was) Bani’s gorgeous dresses are by Self-Portrait . We are so looking forward to their wedding next year with Filosphi at the Vancouver Club.
