Paris Anniversary Shoot: J+P

I thought this was the perfect shoot to blog for Valentine’s Day! Sure, partly because it starts at the Eiffel Tower, which is the most iconic symbol of love, in the most romantic city-PARIS! But why I actually think it’s perfect is because this shoot was to celebrate their 15yr anniversary! And I can say these two are just as smitten with each other as any newly engagement couple. Now, isn’t this what we all want….love that stands the test of time and actually gets better and better. This is what I wish for everyone this Valentine’s Day.

I’ve been fortunate to know Phil & Jess for a few years now. I shot their helicopter engagement shoot and their wedding, followed by some pretty amazing adventures. We went to Iceland and captured them in some epic scenery via helicopter. Then the next year we went to Myanmar and shot in some magnificent ruins and in hot air balloons. Yes, these two really live life to the fullest. I really admire them.

Believe it or not, when they first told me they wanted to do a shoot in Paris, I told them I was just too busy and couldn’t do it (I was honestly very busy). But then they told me their vision of starting at the Eiffel tower for sunrise and then taking a helicopter to Chateau de Villette were they would get a vintage car. On top of all this they brought their huge puppy with them who would come on the shoot. They were definitely catching my attention….but then they said they wouldn’t do it unless I shot it…well, twist my arm, there was no way I could say, “no.” And boy, am I glad I did it.

This was one of those shoots where everything was perfect. They hired Nyachia from NKT Events who helped pull this stunning shoot together in about 10 days. They got a few custom made dresses by Parisian designers, which really elevated the overall look, the flowers were breathtaking, and the vintage car was so unique. Everything came together for this special anniversary shoot that I will never forget. I feel so fortunate & honoured they trusted me to be part of their story, documenting these precious experiences and memories.
