We met Nina & Martin two years ago over cocktails at Reflections…and I instantly knew that I liked this couple. They like to joke and laugh a lot, they are people who ask good questions and really listen, and above all, they really care about others. So much so, that the main priority for their wedding was guest experience.
From the initial save the date card, including a hand made personalized luggage tag and a welcome gift box when the guests arrived, to handwritten notes and candles at their seat, to their guests leaving with their choice of locally made liquor, Nina & Martine always had their guests in mind. No boring speeches that their guests might doze off during, instead they had a surprise comedy act by The Debaters. In the evening they had a 12 piece band and photobooth to keep party going. Let’s not forgot the delicious meal by Hawksworth, with wine pairing. I will not forget this, because we actually got to sit at a table and enjoy it!!! (This was so appreciated, thank you N&M).
No detail was overlooked to think of their guests needs. There were umbrellas, blankets, cute ballerina dancing shoes, little plastic booties to cover their shoes if ground was wet, Iphone charging station, a kids tent with babysitter, a ‘man-cave’ tent with a bar….and even a doggy-welcome box and sitter. I don’t think Nina forgot a thing (I might have in this list thought, lol).
Nina & Martin’s Pemberton wedding was not only a lot of fun, it was so, so beautiful. It had a refine elegance that I think gives it a timeless quality that they will continue to love for years to come. The ceremony took place on their stunning & expansive property in Pemberton that they worked on over the year to get ready for the wedding…adding so much more meaning. The reception was at Riverlands in Pemberton, where Nina’s horse Coco is. From gorgeous flowers, to her hanging light ceiling, to stunning décor, it was all so perfect.
But I think the décor highlight was the 250 foot raised aisle adorn with flowers on either side (it was actually longer than the princess’s ;) I can tell you from my experience the walk down the aisle was one of my favourite moments, and it went by WAY too short. I only wish I had an aisle this long. And the moment that stole everyone’s heart was when Martin walked down the aisle to meet her to take their final steps to the alter together. Or maybe it was when Maverick their bestman, and dog, gave his speech. Fun note, Maverick had no fear speaking in front of the guests, as he is the dog on hit show, “Once upon a time.” Ok too many great moments and details and I never even got to tell you about the beautiful custom dress from London, her veil embroidered with her dogs paws and favourite flowers, nor and the rest of her hand picked team which made her look simply perfect for such a special day. There are just too many special details and people who put their love into this wedding! Ok, enough talking, I’m going to let the photos tell the rest of the story! Enjoy.
