Thanks for stopping by! We're Kristy & Ken (and baby London), the husband and wife duo behind Blush Wedding Photography.
We feel beyond lucky to be doing this job together, capturing amazing couples in gorgeous locations around the world. We've shot over 200 weddings in stunning places such as, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, Ireland, Jamaica, Bali and Mexico (just to name a few) and have been featured in countless international & local magazines and blogs.
We are delighted this year to be recognized as the 'Best Photographer in British Columbia' at the Canadian Wedding Industry Awards. As well as being the Grand Prize winner in the international Shoot & Share contest out of 74,000 photographers and a Junebug Best Of Destination Wedding winner!
I feel what is unique to Ken and I, which benefits our couples, is that we have completely different shooting styles. My background is in fashion photography which taught me how to quickly assess my client’s best angles and the skill required to give their photos a stylish editorial look. I love creating that 'WOW' photo that will catch your eye, as well as, capturing all the little details that couples have spend so much time (and money) deciding and dreaming about.
Ken on the other-hand, has a background in photojournalistic photography. I believe it's his gentle energy and sincere smile that makes people so comfortable around him, enabling him to capture the perfect candid moments. In the end, it's these laughs, tears, touches, questionable dance moves and loving looks that really matter and you really want to document from your wedding day.
That is why I like to say, we capture both the Heart & Style of our couples.
When we are not taking pictures, we can be most likely be found:
- At a coffee shop in our Gastown neighbourbood working on our laptops
- Enjoying a craft beer on a patio (we're kind of beer snobs)
- Redecorating our loft (an endless project)
- Traveling overseas. 54 Countries and counting... (We fell in love while traveling S.E. Asia together and there is no stopping our travel bug)
