We are so over joyed to have won the Best Wedding Photographer in BC in the Canadian Wedding Industry Awards . There are so many wondering photographers in our city and I feel like any of the names could have won. We are so excited. Big congrats to everyone in the industry, we are one talented and fabulous bunch! And a big thank you to all my brides who makes this job, the best job in the world!
If you spend about 30 seconds with these two, you know right away they are completely smitten with each other. Which makes them so much fun to photograph! You can tell we had a great time shooting, because I think I sucked every last drop of sunlight left from the gorgeous sunset we had. I can't wait to photograph these two again in January at the beautiful Rosewood Georgia Hotel. It will be a great start to 2015!
We are so excited to here that one of our photos is going to be on the cover of the first issue of It's Love Vancouver! It's a new magazine coming to town. You must check it out!
I’m so excited to finally show you Hilary and Chris’s wedding. We were waiting for Wedluxe Magazine to publish it first, which you can see it now on newsstands!
It was one of the weddings from last year I was looking most forward to. I had so much fun working with Hilary over the year. She is such a sweet heart. For example, her wedding was on my birthday. She sneakily asked Ken what my favourite dessert was (lemon meringue pie) and had a piece waiting for me when I arrived in the morning. It’s HER big day, but she was thoughtful enough to think of me.
Hilary had a great team of vendors to bring her vision alive. Two of my favourite wedding details, was her Chanel inspired paper flower backdrop by Flowerz and her individual cakes for each table by Kien and Sweet.
There were so many great speeches and laughs throughout the night. A testament of how great these two are. I found myself especially drawn to her grandparents. They seemed so in love and loving every moment of the day. You can see a picture of them during the ceremony. I only hope Ken and I can grow that old and happy together. I have no doubt that Hilary and Chris will

The great thing about having two photographers, is that we have two different points of views…and Darlene and Kiran’s wedding had elements that got both of us excited.
Ken loves kids. While editing this wedding, all I heard was him giggling at how cute the kids were. I think they are now the star of his instagram (@aerialken). I have to admit, their daughter (the flower girl) was one of the most confident, kind, mature and funny kids I’ve ever met. I was so impressed that I had to ask what their parenting secret was. They said consistency. They then retracted that and admitted it’s just her…she is pretty wonderful. (I like to think it’s due to the Asian/White mix and Ken and I will have just as an amazing child when the time comes ;)
Me on the other hand, love all things pretty. And Darlene is that. I think I kept showing Ken every second photo say, “Ohh…look at her in THIS photo!” This bride cannot take a bad photo. Needless to say, we were in our element and had so much fun at this mini destination wedding in sunny Kelowna!
On this Thanksgiving day, we just wanted to send a BIG THANK YOU to all our wonderful brides and grooms. We feel so thankful that you trust us to capture one of the most important days in your lives. And that you are always game for some of my crazy ideas, such as this photo. We are also pretty thankful, that you are all such amazing, talented, thoughtful, kind and all around pretty rad people. It is such a treat getting to know all of you throughout the year.
I would also like to send a personal shout out to my amazing husband and second half of Blush, Ken. Without you, Blush would never have happened. You are the most supportive, loving, patient, and handsome man I know (I don't personally know Ryan Gosling, so I'm not lying ;). I am thankful everyday to be able to call you my husband.
Hope you are all with your love ones eating delicious food, pumpkin pie and of course, some yummy wine!
P.S. If anyone of you need some cranberries for your Turkey dinner, I know where you can find some :)
I knew right when I met Amanda that I was going to have fun working with her. And I was right…this girl is Wonder Women. While being an amazing wife and mom, she also coaches baseball. Which you know she must go above and beyond, because her whole team was at her wedding and gave her the most amazing speech.
On top of that, she also planned this wedding herself AND had time to refinish the blue cabinet for the dessert ‘table’ (you must check it out) and probably a million other personal hand touches.
But even though Amanda is amazing (and Andy quite the looker) someone else stole the show at their wedding…Noelle, their daughter. She was perfectly adorable the whole day. From running down the aisle to meet her mom and grandpa and walking up the aisle with them, to joining her parents when they had a moment of pray during the ceremony and reaching her little hands up to join theirs (must see these pictures). I had tears in my eyes the whole day. So special. It was everything a wedding should be.

If you are more a modern and unconventional bride looking for a wedding dress that is a little different, then Truvelle is your brand. Made in Gastown, my neighbourhood, these dresses are hand-made with care, love and a story.
I'm so exited to finally show you images from the Truvelle 2015 Lookbook. We had a lot of fun putting this lookbook together and a great team.
One of my favourite childhood memories was playing in the forest behind my house. Going on mini-adventures, playing hide-in-go-seek, building forts, and picking fresh berries. My forest is what Frasers Grandpa’s backyard was to him. As a child Fraser played in this AMAZING backyard where we did their engagement photos.
I have to admit, Fraser might have one-upped me…as my forest did not have a pond with a row boat, a pool or a mini cabin. This backyard is a child’s (or adults) dream and I’m so glad that Stephanie and Fraser shared it with us. But this time we played in big kids style. We got to drink wine in the row boat, Fraser’s very styling bike (which was definitely the coolest bike on the block) included a beer opener and Ken…well he was still playing with remote control toys getting some photos with the drone.
Cannot wait for Stephanie and Fraser’s wedding...and to be invited over for another play date.
Wendy and Hansen had their wedding at one of my favourite locations, the Hycroft Manor. I love it, not only because is classic and chic, but it's one of the only location where you can be outside, even if it's raining! The gorgeous covered patio kept us all dry while Wendy and Hansen said their 'I do's!" And then the rain went away just in time for us to take some portraits around Vancouver. All in all, it was a perfect day.... which you can see by the smile that never left Wendy's face for the whole day!
